Thursday Throwback Tune

Some of the most beautiful songs of the era were sung and written by this man. Today he`s known as Yusuf Islam, but for the millions of fans of his music, like me, he`ll always be Cat Stevens in our hearts. I still listen to him almost daily. There is something about his music that seems eternal, at least to me.

What`s your favorite Cat Stevens song?

Don't remember Cat Stevens, but the song sounded familiar. In an odd way, he reminded me of John Denver and that was my go to guy in the 70s....lol...

I like everything Cat Stevens did. Morning Has Broken is probably my favorite.

Yes, I remember Cat Stevens and his songs! But then again, I am 55 years old, and this was the kind of music I listened to. My husband was raised on Country only. When we were dating 1976-76 I said something about Alice Cooper and he said to me, "who is she?" and he was dead serious, he did not know!

Ah yes, Morning Has Broken is another of his that I love, Christina.

You and I are of a similar age, Heare2Watts. I`m 53, and grew up on Cat, and Alice, as well. My mother was a huge country fan and so I also had a nice choice of different genres in my formative years. I`ll have to dig some of that old country out for a future post!

I love Cat Stevens. My favorite song of his is Peace Train. I recently saw him perform on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. He was still fantastic!

Hi Kathleen! My husband and I just watched the R & R Hall of Fame Induction show as well. Cat/Yusuf was fantastic indeed! Made me decide to pick up his newest album since he sounds just as good as he did in his prime.
